Jeff Bennett has been a leader in the digital economy for more than twelve years through his work as an entrepreneur, executive and advisor.
Today, Mr. Bennett serves as President and COO of NameMedia where he oversees all of the day-to-day business operations. Mr. Bennett led the effort to raise $80m in capital from Highland Capital Partners and Summit Partners to launch NameMedia. NameMedia has built one of the largest domain portfolios in the world, established two of the leading domain aftermarket sites with BuyDomains and AfterNic, and has established a large media network for Direct Search, eCommerce, Niche Verticals and Social Networking sites. The NameMedia network of web properties serve an Internet audience of over 60 million unique visitors each month. This effort earned Mr. Bennett an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award. NameMedia has also received many honors for its growth, market leadership, innovation and company culture.
Mr. Bennett shares a strong interest in the evolution of Social Media and is leveraging his expertise in this field at NameMedia and through other activities. Mr. Bennett is sharing his views, experiences and information through blogging on http://www.jeffbennett.com. Mr. Bennett is also a member of the Board of Directors of RatePoint.Com and SwapTree.Com, both venture backed companies focused on social media and commerce. Mr. Bennett is also a member of the Tech Stars program where he is a mentor to young entrepreneurs.
Prior to NameMedia, Mr. Bennett served in several executive roles at Terra-Lycos and Lycos. Mr. Bennett founded the Lycos E-Commerce business and was also the architect of several strategic acquisitions and alliances during his tenure.
Mr. Bennett earned his B.S. Degree, cum laude, with a concentration in Marketing and Management from Bentley College.
