A seasoned management consultant and corporate executive, Jeff Chan brings a unique balance of human resources management and strategy consulting experience gained in diverse industries around the globe.
Having recently joined SECOR Group, an international management consultancy based in Canada, Jeff brings a strategic mindset honed over 10 years at McKinsey & Company, in its organization performance practice and then as co-founder of its global Growth Practice. He has served clients in industries including financial services, retail, industrial and high-tech, in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia on issues encompassing human resources and organization performance, growth strategy and business building, and cost-cutting and restructuring.
Prior to McKinsey, Jeff held senior HR positions in Canada and the US, with Amphenol Corporation, formerly a division of AlliedSignal (now Honeywell), American Express, and SHL Systemhouse (now HP). More recently he headed up HR, volunteers, language services, and accreditation as SVP for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, and was Sr. VP, Human Resources at CMA Holdings (also known as MD Financial) in Ottawa.
Jeff holds an MBA from Western and a BA from Queen’s where his focus was on organizational behaviour.
Jeff has served six years as a Trustee of Queen’s University and Director of the Queen's Alumni Association, and was alumni representative on the Queen's Council on Athletics. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee for the $200M Queen’s Centre project, and the Board's Advancement Committee. He was a Council member of the Toronto Board of Trade, chairman of its Race Relations committee, and a member of its Labour Relations committee. He is also a past President of the Toronto Junior Board of Trade, Governor of Variety Village in Toronto, and Chairman of the Vanier Cup – Canada’s University Football Championship. For fun, he is the photographer for the Queen’s Golden Gaels football team.
