Volunteer scientific programmer. I worked with rRNA sequence data judging secondary structure prediction from manual alignments against those produced by state of the art programs. Also, I developed some tools for investigating RNA secondary structure. This work was so much more interesting than what I was doing for cash that I decided to go to grad school in Biophysics.
