He's currently Founder and Chief Technology Officer at data integration startup Untangly, Inc. focused on deep web mining.

Prior to running Buzzlogic’s engineering, Jean co-founded Activeweave, Inc. in 2005. As its CTO, he built and scaled its contextual, personalized relevance engine. Jean also held Director and Senior Director of Software Engineering positions at Oracle and Symbol Technologies.

Jean sold Activeweave to BuzzLogic in April 2008; Buzzlogic thus complements its technology to analyze relevance and influence in blogs and social media, to power its ad network using conversation-specific influence and ultimately to improve ad engagement and performance.
At Buzzlogic, Jean heads the company's core technical vision, strategy, and architecture. He also runs Buzzlogic’s engineering team, to develop and deliver a family of search, web analysis, and advertising solutions.
Buzzlogic unlocks the power of conversations and influence, with applications that help players across the social media ecosystem—businesses, online publishers and the bloggers contributing to influential communities— reap the rewards and engage its constituents.

Jean co-founded Activeweave in mid-2005. He co-led its fund-raising, co-created and wrote its patents, and drove its overall vision and strategy.
As CTO, he was directly in charge of architecture, design and implementation. He built, scaled, ran the company and its infrastructure from inception to over 10 million daily hits.
Activeweave makes Stickis and BlogRovR. Both help create a truly participatory web, enabling individuals to share perspective and commentary among their social groups.
BlogRovR, one of Firefox's recommended add-ons, has garnered over 300,000 registered users. It lets you bring your favorite bloggers along as you browse: our personalized, on-the-fly contextual relevance engine fetches stories related to the page you're on, right into the browser, as you go.
Stickis augments the web with your personal and social annotations.
Activeweave, funded by angels and VCs including Esther Dyson and Eric di Benedetto, was acquired in April 2008 by Buzzlogic.
