I have been involved in software development for the last 25 years. Developping commercial software for resale as well as system for large organisation. I have started my career in geophysics were I developed tools for visualizing large amount of complex data (Fortran on VAX and then Pascal on the Macintosh) and then move on to develop custum solutions for clients. After a couple of years I work for a Centre Jeunesse where I was responsible for all the computer systems. That job allowed me to work on a new multi-year development project for all the Centre Jeunesse in Québec. There I was in charge of developing the software architecture of a distributed n-tier application using VB and COM/DCOM. I was also responsible for organizing the processes of the 25 persons team. That experience brought me to Hydro-Québec where my team is currently responsible for implementing software development best practices in our internal teams. Our latest initiative is starting a team of 20 people around .NET using the latest technologies in a SOA architecture.
