I'm more talent scout & ambassador than Manager. I do strategy, high level planning & client engagement.
I love getting my hands on a project, working with clients to figure out what they need then letting my team get on and do it.
I love finding new businesses for us to grow & opportunities for us & our clients to capitalize on.
I'm well known in Performance Marketing circles and judging by the fact that I keep getting invited back, seem to be rather an engaging, or at least a passable speaker.
Classically trained in Marketing & Sales Management (surprise) I built my first catalog driven search engine back in 1991/3. Had I sold the toolset I'd be sipping scotch with Andreessen, but that's a another story.
In 1997 we IPO'd on the JSE but early 1999 I left and started an investment brokerage, which invested (unsuccessfully I might add) into startups & did M&A
In 2000 I was recruited to a project that built the first Affiliate Program in SA for an Assurance company and immediately wreaked havoc on their agency dominated business model, forcing them to can the project.
From here, being the new guru (ok, the only guy to get the business model in SA, with experience developing a business case, technology and marketing it) I was recruited by a company that serviced the Online Gaming industry.
I developed their platform, oversaw the launch and managed their channel for almost 2 years before my entrepreneurial urge drew me to start the business that evolved into Forge.
Soon I'd like Forge to join the Fortune1000 and Fast100.
I don't envy those companies, we value what it takes to get and stay there. I'm passionate about Forge & the trust that our clients place in us to drive value for them. If we do right by them, we'll earn our place.

Kowabunga Technologies South Africa was the company that I founded, as the licensee to Kowabunga Technologies USA, with whom we had formed a strategic relationship to do all their Outsourced Affiliate Marketing. Kowabunga provided the software and my team in South Africa provide Kowabunga clients with Affiliate program Setup, integration and managment services under the Team-Affiliate brand.
As the business evolved this relationship changed to a vendor relationship and the Forge Business On-Line Brand was created to identify ourselves as an independant multi-vendor service.
