I'm a fledgling professional games writer. I love to explore the loftiest nimbus as much as the meat & veg of a traditional review. I've written for and with PC Gamer UK, a top international games mag based in sunny Bath. I find that my plans to branch out and write for more mags are often derailed by welcome commissions from the PCG lads, so you could say I write for PC Gamer.
However, I also write for my personal blog, Jazmeister Central, which is a mix of personal and professional content. I want my mum to be able to read it alongside writer colleagues and the general public. The writing standard is high. I've wound down the writing there of late to focus on paid work, but it's the perfect outlet for more exploratory work that'd otherwise be lost to cutting room floors and slush piles across the nation.
Indie games, genre hybrids, writing very good things very quickly, prompt invoices.

I've been forging a great relationship with Future Publishing as a freelance contributor since March 09. I work with some great editors to pitch and submit reviews and features to the industry's leading video game and tech mags.

This is my network of blogs, currently three-strong, where my gratis writing ends up. The main site, Jazmeister Central, is my professional and personal home on the web, where users can keep track of my exploits and find out where to look for my writing.
The Longhouse is my game development blog, where I write post-mortems for competition entries and games I've made for fun.
Veiled Worlds is the outlet for my fiction. I'm obsessed with fantastical fiction that reaches into other worlds and alternate realities, hence the name. I tend to post there on the first of the month, and the stories and serialised segments are around a thousand words each.

At Gaming Daily, I wrote six of my most exciting reviews of great independant games. Craig gave me free run of the Wednesday slot, so I happily wrote thousands of words for little free games that wouldn't usually get a look in.

This was awesome. At GNC, I spent about 8 months selling vitamins to people on the shop floor. It was refreshing, face-to-face stuff with customers who were happy to be sold to. Learned a lot about dealing with the public, from watching for shoplifters to building a rock-solid customer base.
I left here when I had a massive family emergency and travelled back to the UK to live.

My Visual Basic project was submitted to the UHI HQ as an example of an excellent project. Mid-semester, my visa application for residence in the USA was suddenly approved, so I was forced to quit the course early and move continents before the entry-window expired.
