Chief Operating Officer at JGP
London, United Kingdom
Trained and qualitified as an Accountant, working initially public practice and then in social housing. I've now officially retired the calculator from full-time use and have taken on more generic leadership roles.
Currently enjoying the challenge of bringing web technologies to public sector clients to help take away the pain in HR teams (costly advertising, paper application forms, paper annual appraisals, umpteen spreadsheets with checklists on them).
It's wonderfully satisfying to know that we can really help our clients operate more effectively and efficiently. But let's get real - those two words are *such* a turn-off. The real deal is that if we can get the tech doing the heavy-lifting, we can get the sentient human beings doing more interesting and value-adding stuff. Everyone's happier - and I reckon that matters.
I know we do this really well. Because before I joined the jobsgopublic.com leadership team, I was a jobsgpublic.com client !

Absolutely not a girly-swot here. The interest in boys continued. And drinking; going to gigs; and generally pontificating about stuff that I felt was important (clause 28, fighting the Alton Bill, supporting the ambulance workers strike, small amounts of poll-tax protesting).
