I'm a technology entrepreneur, by way of Microsoft and b-school. Prior to grad school, I was in the ultimate entrepreneurial profession -- I was an actor in New York.
My background is a blend. I've been a successful, global, operating guy with big name company experience, blended with a small company attitude and approach. I'm passionate about building great teams and great businesses.
In 9+ years at MSFT, I worked successfully with everyone from engineers / researchers to sales and field organizations. I've also gotten my global chops through spending the last 3 years in Microsoft Japan, where I've turned around our Windows business group.
Most recently, I launched Windows Vista in Japan, where we saw over 4000 people queue up for the first night sales. I also personally conducted over 20 1/1 press interviews with major publications in Japan around our launch, and became known in Japan as "Mr. Windows Vista."
Prior to Microsoft Japan, I worked in the Windows Server Product Management Group, and built the Windows Server Product Planning organization. This work led us to plan and roadmap to product releases Windows Server 2003 Release 2, and upcoming releases such as Windows Server 2008 and Windows Home Server.
Multiple gold star awards, high lifetime average review score, and member of Steve Ballmer's inaugural "Bench" Class of 2004, aimed at developing future leaders in MSFT. Most recently, my team was awarded Microsoft's FY07 Quarterly Performance Team Challenge, which rewarded consistent quarterly revenue overperformance in our most recent fiscal year.
When not working or spending time with family, I'm playing ice hockey, poker or skiing.
