Marketing Communications Consultant
Greater New York City Area
I am a marketing communications professional in the areas of strategy development, direct marketing, advertising, public relations and social media. With more than 10 years experience, I have developed marketing plans, Web sites, collateral and social media strategies for clients in various vertical markets.
My experience first began in 1995 with CQS Research, a marketing research firm in Houston, Texas, where I developed new business and marketed focus group packages to Fortune 1000 companies. In this position, I had the unique opportunity to learn first-hand from the vice president of market research.
In 1996 I began to learn HTML, CGI and JavaScript, hand-coding basic Web sites while adding functional, interactive content.
In 1997, I joined TV Montrose as a television journalist, reporting news in the LGBT community. This role afforded an incredible opportunity to break into the broadcasting industry while learning valuable skills in public relations, news media and journalism.
In 2000, I began freelancing as a Web and graphic designer under the name of Visual Media Studios. During this time, I developed collateral and specialty items for the Democratic National Convention, Hilton Hotels, Radisson Hotels, artists and psychotherapy professionals.
I joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as the marketing and public relations manager in 2003. After five successful years with the Society, I moved to SRJ Marketing Communications to take on a lead account management role.
In 2006, I founded Crew 96 Entertainment, consulting with nonprofits and producing community events.
In 2009, I relocated to New York where I'm currently contracted with McGraw-Hill's AVIATION WEEK division to market events in the aerospace industry.
As a marketing communications consultant, I continue to develop strategies for various clients, integrating social media with traditional marketing and public relations to proliferate demand generation.
