After a long career in software internationalization, I risked everything to take on a more entrepreneurial focus, introducing US customers to Asian lifestyle goods. The fruits of that are on YuzuMura.com, my online retail store.
After realizing that the wholesale side of that business was too expensive to operate on my available resources, I returned to software to solve interesting problems and pay some bills.
I dig Ruby on Rails and ASP.Net MVC. I'm happiest writing code in Ruby, C#, and Boo (think Python but with static types and semantic macros), and I've spent some time customizing the Boo compiler pipeline to build a pretty cool domain-specific language.
I love work that involves coordinating between geographically dispersed teams, and I particularly enjoy working on the market and technical requirements for Japan, Korea, and Greater China.
Pet projects:
I'm currently playing around with some constraint satisfaction problems in scheduling, experimenting with Cassowary.net and NSolver, attempting to apply constraint solving to a food-related variant of job-shop scheduling or combining protocols problem. I'm also trying to make sense of Bayesian probability.
I also spend a lot of time on two pet projects using ASP.Net MVC with a semi-DDD approach, and a Ruby on Rails thing.
I've been playing with F# a bit to bend my mind, though I'm not that savvy.
