Jason Terry’s Summary

I have been tinkering with computers since 4th grade and have a computer engineering degree from KSU. After college I went to work for DST Systems as a consultant implementing workflow automation products. I did that for 18 months and got tired of living out of a suitcase so I took a software development position at GeoAccess, Inc., now a division of Ingenix. I did a bunch of C++ and web development programming and after 4 years decided to get into IT Consulting. I took a job with RiverPoint consulting and had placements at Sprint, ERC (a division of GE), Primedia, and a few smaller contracts. The consulting experience was perfect for me because it fits how I like to work. Lots of projects and an ever changing landscape. I helped launch Versent, "the purple guys" that does network and desktop support for the SMB market. I started Blue Gurus to help businesses sell their products and services effectively by leveraging social networking tools. We also help those companies deliver more effectively by leveraging technology and processes. I keep up to date by reading everything I can get my hands on and attending webinars and seminars in my field. I am also a member in Vistage, an executive organization where peers share successes and challenges and how to deal with both.

My goals have not changed since I graduated college in 1994. I want to be actively involved with technology in the business community. I have the rare ability to translate technical information into business information that non-technical people can use. Consulting is my sweet spot. Consulting requires me to stay up to speed on current and future technologies so that I can guide my clients effectively. I enjoy building something from start to finish so that I can see the successful results of my labor. I find great satisfaction in a job well done.
