Jason Paez was most recently CEO of CauseSpring Software, a technology start-up firm. Previously, he was an investment banker with the Leveraged Finance practice of UBS, which he joined from the corporate finance practice focusing on M&A and capital raising for industrial companies. Prior to joining UBS, he was with Merrill Lynch.
Before joining Merrill in 2000, Jason was a microbiological researcher in the lab of Günter Blobel, recipient of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
In addition to his business and scientific interests, Jason is an advisor and fundraiser in national politics. From January 2007 to January 2009 he served as a founding member of Barack Obama’s National Finance Committee, as well as a member of the campaign's national economic and technology advisory teams. During the 2004 presidential election, Jason also worked closely with the Co-Chairmen for Senator Kerry's Fortune 500 CEO recruitment, and subsequently became an advisor to the Democracy Alliance.
He is a member of Mensa International and a graduate of Columbia University.
