Jason Paez is a businessman and entrepreneur. Most recently, he is founder of CauseSpring Software, a web application start-up targeting inefficiencies in event ticketing by causes and educational institutes. Previously, he was an investment banker with the Financial Sponsors & Leveraged Finance practice of UBS, which he joined from the corporate finance department focusing on M&A and capital raising for industrial companies. Prior to joining UBS, he was with Merrill Lynch.

Before joining Merrill in 2000, Jason was a microbiological researcher in the lab of Günter Blobel, recipient of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Medicine.

In addition to his business and scientific interests, Jason is a frequent adviser and fundraiser in national politics. From January 2007 to January 2009 he served as a member of Barack Obama’s National Finance Committee, as well as a member of his national economic and technology advisory teams. During the 2004 presidential election, Jason also worked closely with the Co-Chairmen for Fortune 500 CEO recruitment, and subsequently became an adviser to the Democracy Alliance.

He is a graduate of Columbia University, and a member of Mensa International.
