Jason Kiesel’s Summary
FREEDOMSPEAKS.COM is a political social network that enables direct communication with a member’s publicly elected officials. Once registered, a member is instantly informed of who represents him/her on both the federal and state level of government (with the local level coming soon). Further, a member can compose a letter on our site and with just a few clicks, send it to one or all of their officials. We deliver the letter free of charge via both email AND fax. Members then have the opportunity to share their letters with other friends (who can then forward the letter to their officials), enabling a very targeted grass roots political campaign on their issue of choice.
My main goal for launching the site are:
1. Increase the level of government transparency by exposing all means of communication for each of our elected officials as well as clarifying bills they voted for or against (voting records are a soon-to-be feature too).
2. Enabling an easy and effective way for a citizen to communicate with his/her elected official.
3. Facilitate political and social activism by way of technology and social medias.
