The Polaris Investment Competition is a 52-week endeavor in which the selected teams use real money to buy and sell stocks and are measured against a benchmark and each other.
The process begins by selecting a team of 4 to 6 members. The team then puts together a proposal for their picks which is submitted to the Polaris committee for review. Once chosen, your team goes in front of the committee to defend your investment thesis. If you are able to convince the committee that you have a sound investment philosophy and understanding, then your team is selected to compete.
Each team is given $50K per team member. Your buy and sell orders are submitted to the governing body for approval and execution. This is not a trading competition. The goal is to develop a strong understanding of the investment process and have a chance to win some cash as well.
My experience was great as I got to learn from others as well as put my own knowledge and experience to the test.
Thanks Chuck.
