I recently worked as Product Evangelist for Emerging Technology (and Interaction Design Lead) at SNAP.com. I was interim Online Marketing Mgr for a brief period. Previous to working at SNAP.com I was the User Experience Lead at Idealab!.
From 1999-2003 I consulted as AIR-PORT, a design aware techno-centric media shop (in L.A. & BayArea/S.F.). A recent past consulting contract was with SBC SMARTpages.com as their Lead Information Architect (in 2003).
I have worked with a variety of high-end technology, startup and Fortune 500/1000 clients, which incl. Levi Strauss, Adobe Systems, Netscape, Macys and Dwell Magazine. It’s been my mission to generate new business ideas which evolve the use of technology and deliver a compelling, dynamic digital experience across all media channels, not solely the internet.
From 1998-2000 I was Sr Web Technologist at MetaDesign in San Francisco, a 20+ person branding and information design firm. I worked within MetaDesign to provide technology strategy, systems architecture and development management on interactive projects for Sony EU, Network Computer, Ernst & Young, Bank of America and others.
Many projects have been featured in print and online publications, incl. Communication Arts 1998 Interactive Design Annual, ID Magazine 1999 Interactive Design Annual, and Society for Publication Design 2001 Print Annual.
Taking a non-conventional route on design and tech education, I attended California State Polytechnic University, Communication Arts program. During my stay I was exposed to the Internet in its infant stages. Used VAX/VMS systems, modem dialup BBS, Gopher and Telnet. Later in professional life I built my first ‘website’ for a client, in late 1994.
In 2000 I collaborated with Levi Strauss SilverTab® brand and the MIT ‘Things that Think’ Consortium regarding the future development of market ready garments integrating personal area networking technologies and low power consumption wearable electronics.
