YYJ Twestival (Twestival Victoria) is part of the worldwide Twitter fundraiser movement Twestival founded by Amanda Rose in late 2008.
The first Twestival Global was held in January 2009 in 202 cities worldwide and raised over $250,000 for charity:water to fund well drilling projects in the third world.
In September 2009, Twestival went local, and Victoria signed on to be one of 130 cities raising money for local charities. Victoria's charity, chosen by the community of Twitter users, was Power to Be Adventure Therapy Society. Collectively we raised almost $5000 in a short six weeks.
