Dr. Jan Frick is employed as Professor at School of Hotel and Business Management, Stavanger University. He was also Vice Dean for research for the Social Science faculty.2005-2007.
He holds a Master in Science in Operation Management and ICT from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim, Norway, 1980, and a PhD in development of industrial collaboration network from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, 1992. Jan Frick has previous worked at the research institutes SINTEF (80-83) and Rogaland Research Institute (83-88) and at the industrial collaboration institutions Jærtek at Bryne (1988), and TESA at Sandnes.(88-91)
Jan Frick has managed several Norwegian and international research projects, and coordinated industrial collaboration networks. He has published at several international conferences, journals and book chapters.
Jan Frick is member of the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) workgroup 5.7 “Integration in Production Management”. He is member of the international editorial review board of the “International Journal of Web-based learning and Teaching technologies”, member of the international editorial review board of the “International Journal of Operation and Production Management”, member of ”the international editorial review board” for “International Journal of Web Based Communities”, and ad hoc reviewer for the editorial board of the “Information Resources Management Journal”.
Among many other projects, Jan Frick has done and is running several international projects connected to elearning, broadband, and innovation.
Jan Frick is member of board and part-owner of a alpine ski-resort in Sirdal in Norway. www.sirdalalpint.no
