    (Information Services industry)

    June 2003Present (6 years 2 months)

I've been looking after the BrightonBloggers.com site since I created it in 2003. It started life as a section in the Brighton Virtual Festival 2003 and I decided it deserved a life of its own and so created BrightonBloggers.com. It lists all known off blogs within the Brighton and Hove area. I maintain the web site, adding new blogs as required, and arrange meet ups etc.

Most of the code is written in PHP and uses mySQL.

Stability projects have involved upsizing the database to SQL Server 2000 from Access 2000 and introducing the concept of locking to prevent multiple users editing the same data. Enhancements have involved producing a consistent set of standard documents in a C# windows form based application launching crystal reports, producing a suite of management reports designed to answer typical bodyshop questions using crystal reports and VB COM and implementing a calculation engine written in VB COM, TSQL and DTS to calculate times for vehicle panel repairs using the Thatcham Times System.
