Jamie McCarty's Summary
I started work as an intern at Good Morning America in 2003. I was a freelancer for ABC News during the 2004 Presidential Election and was hired as a Desk Assistant in 2005.
While at ABC News, I worked in various departments starting on the Overnight Assignment Desk, Weekend News, and World News Tonight.
I spent the most of my tenure at Early Morning News working for overnight staple World News Now, World News This Morning (now America this Morning) and the Good Morning America News block.
While on that shift I was running scripts, rundowns and doing research for writers and anchors. On a night where several people called out with the flu bug, I was asked to step up and video produce for all three shows. From that night on, I was cutting video for the three programs and working with Operations Producers in the DMC.
I left ABC News in 2007 and have been an assignment editor at ESPN since October 2007.
