James 'Jim' Decker’s Summary
I am a specialist in the design, manufacture, and sale of souvenir merchandise for live event and entertainment properties. At Dewynters, we build and enhance brand recognition while providing a supplemental revenue stream for our clients. We create unique retail spaces and themed sales points as well as develop novel and innovative marketing items for sale and promotional “give aways.”
Over the last 23 years, I have directed merchandising for more than 65 properties including the ING New York City Marathon, Federation of Gay Games, and Paul Simon’s Concert in Central Park; worked with licensed brands such as Garfield and Looney Tunes; and overseen retail stores in New York and Las Vegas. I have operated in hundreds of theatres across North America and venues as diverse as Central Park, the Pacific National Expo in Vancouver Canada, and Yankee Stadium.
In addition to the ING NYC Marathon, we currently oversee the merchandise operation for The Roundabout Theatre Company; the Broadway productions of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, CHICAGO – THE MUSICAL, and LA CAGE AUX FOLLES; and the national touring productions of THE COLOR PURPLE, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and CHICAGO. We also operate the PHANTOM BOUTIQUE at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
