I am a Spanish Telecommunications Engineer, specialised in Electronics and Information Systems applied to the Rail Sector.
I have approximately five years of professional experience, and have so far worked for four companies. I first took up a working experience in the UK, where I cooperated with the Lloyd's Register Group, particularly with its Engineering Consultancy firm (Lloyd's Register Rail, formerly Lloyd's Register MHA Ltd.). Back in Spain I began to work with a firm called Ardanuy Ingeniería, whose main activity area is the provision of consultancy and technical support in the development of electrical, signalling and telecommunications project for the rail sector.
From May 2005 to September 2007 I worked for a company called InfoGLOBAL as a Project Engineer, mainly involved in the design of solutions in the fields of Telecommunications and Information Systems. My work comprised the specification of technical and economical proposals. I was specialised in the Networking Area, and my expertise covers technological areas such as Multiservice IP Networks, Synchronous SDH-PDH Networks, Wireless Networks (WiFi, WiMax, Mesh) and the provision of high-level services/applications over the aforementioned networking technologies. InfoGLOBAL's role is that of a Systems-Integrator, whose main focus is upon the infrastructure sector, particulary the rail sector.
Since September 2007 I have been working as a Transportation Business Development Manager for Lloyd's Register España. LR España is part of the Lloyd's Register Group, a worlwide company deploying services in areas such as marine, industry, oil&gas and transportation (focusing on rail). Its scope of activity covers consultancy, engineering and 3rd party safety assessment services. My responsibility is to help increase LR España activities on rail, employing LR's expertise and existing competence centres (Infrastructure, Rolling Stock and Strategic Consultancy).

LR España belongs to LR worldwide group, delivering services in sectors such as marine, oil & gas, asset management and transportation. Its services provision encompassess consultancy, engineering and 3rd party assurance, verification and assessment. I work for the transportation side of the business, being my responsability that of helping the Spanish subsidiary increase its market in the rail sector, both in Spain and Portugal.
I am responsible for tender preparation, client contact and also market research activities, reporting both to operations in Spain and UK.
Services provision is carried out using own LR España resources and also via the existing rail competence centres, located in UK (Infrastructure) and Holland (Rolling Stock).

I worked for the Technical Office at InfoGLOBAL, in the design and pre-implementation assessment of applied Teleccomunication Systems. These included Multiservice Networks (IP and TDM) as well as all sorts of IP high-level services (such as telephony, intercom and CCTV). Both general an detailed studies were carried out, as part of conventional offers to private and public clients (tendering process). These studies were both technical and economical, therefore assessing its viability from different viewpoints. I also carried out project execution and management activities.
Sectors approached were basically Rail (Metro, Light Metro and Conventional/High Speed Rail) and Health.

Company business consists on the provision of Engineering, Project Consultancy and Field-Works Assessment service for the rail sector. My involvement was:
- Development of technical and economical proposals.
- I+D engineer: I contributed to de development and debugging of a Software application used to determine the optimum position of power traction substations.
- Project-engineer: I cooperated with INECO-TIFSA in the provision of technical assistance service during the deployment of the Spanish high speed rail system, assuming the following roles:
* Technical Assistance Manager for the deployment of Mobile and Fixed Telecom. Systems for railway services (GSM-R and SDH/PDH) in the Segovia – Valdestillas railway links, for ADIF (Spanish Administrator for Railway Infrastructure).
* Technical Assistante Acceptance Engineer for the deployment of Mobile and Fixed Telecom. Systems for railway services, in the Lleida – Barcelona and Madrid – Toledo railway links, for ADIF.
