Jake was a co-founder and director of Tornado, one of the UK’s leading providers of webcasting and streaming media solutions. Tornado worked within a broad range of UK industries. Their services also included web-based design, build, consultancy, project management and content management.
Jake developed and managed all technical systems at Tornado including all web and streaming services, delivering 500,000+ streams per month. Jake also managed the technical delivery of many of Tornado’s most successful projects for clients such as Shell, Microsoft, BBC, EMAP, Cisco, BT, HSBC and Selfridges.
In 2002, Tornado won the BT Openworld Award for Best Use of Broadband for their broadcast of the Glastonbury festival. Jake managed the technical delivery of this project during 2002 and 2003.
Tornado was acquired by Servecast Ltd in October 2003, Jake was made redundant at this point as Servecast’s technical operations are based in Ireland but was still regularly employed as a consultant.

Jake was employed shortly after the company’s inception, as Global IT Manager. He designed the company’s global IT infrastructure, network management and monitoring facilities, and was solely responsible for recruiting and managing the 14-strong, 24hr, global IT support team.
Jake’s employment was cut short when he resigned to start Tornado Productions Ltd.
