Since graduating undergrad in 2003, I've studied Chinese, worked on an organic mangosteen orchard, taught tourists how to snorkel and spearfish on the Great Barrier Reef, studied more Chinese, taught and tutored English, translated, interpreted, raised money for grassroots Chinese microfinance projects, designed and managed capacity building projects, written business plans, and done anything the startup founder for whom I worked asked me to do: create customer service processes, design curriculum, create tutor training processes, prioritize for an IT Department, write technical specification, give sales presentations to corporate clients, and help raise money.
My goal is to learn as much as I can about how I can contribute to creating an ecologically sustainable economy. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute as I learn.

Acorn Energy is a holding company that invests in clean energy technologies. At the moment, we are not invested in anything related to renewables. Our focus is instead on technologies that create greater energy efficiency and productivity.
As Entrepreneur in Residence, I focus primarily on my own startup project (which is not connected to the energy industry), but I also help with energy industry research and anything else on which Acorn might need a hand.

Since the blog is what exists at the moment, I'll throw everything under the blog umbrella.
We're building tools to help people consume more responsibly, building tools to help people compare brands, building tools to help people choose to support the companies that doing the best things for the world, building tools to promote the companies that are leading us to a sustainable future.
We're starting with a brand comparison website. If you want to buy running shoes, for example, you'll be able to compare Nike, Adidas, Asics, New Balance, and others. You'll be able to see what good things the businesses behind those brands are doing. You'll be able to contribute your opinions, question the other opinions we've collected, and ask questions. And you'll be able to go to the shoe store feeling prepared to make a meaningful choice.
While we continue to build the website, we offer you the blog: www.moreperfectmarket.com.
