Jacques Van Niekerk’s Summary
Jacques van Niekerk is the Chief Executive Officer at MIH SWAT.
I have responsibility for the global team, with focus on strategically driving the mandate of SWAT.
Our activities include research, architecture, product development, and actively evangelising the adoption of knowledge management practices in the MIH group.
We are also responsible for organising and facilitating global technical conferences for the MIH group, and for managing Naspers' Media Lab bursary initiative at Stellenbosch University.
I am a decent coder and software architect with wide experience in enterprise and web systems design and implementation across industries ranging from retail, to engineering, to new media.
I am particularly interested in the semantic web, knowledge management and the utilisation and diffusion of technical knowledge in the organisation.
I lecture part time at the University of Stellenbosch to post-graduate students on the topics of Web and Internet technology.
Believer, cynic, reader, thinker. Occasional cook. Traveller and explorer whenever the opportunity arises.
