New technologies developed over the past 10 years have enabled people to engage in the most inherent of human natures; talking to each other. Share views, opinions, anecdotes, keep family and friends informed efficiently. This technology soon made the Web accessible to the thoughts and ruminations of everyone. Web logs became prevalent. Citizen Journalism began to emerge. Decision-making has fundamentally changed.
Now in the battle for the public’s attention enters competition by the public, for the public, of the public. And in this new "virtual" public square are gathered purposeful, passionate people. The New Media, and opportunity, emerges.
So, if the Press is the "4th Estate" is the "New Media" a 5th Estate? or the empowered "3rd Estate"?
My 20+ years experience in communication has brought me to this point and my goal is to get the "co" back in communication.
Helping people tell their own story.
