Led Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory compliance and training programs for the company and its seven (7) manufacturing plants nationwide as well as managed (6) six Safety Managers at each manufacturing location outside of the West Chicago location. My duties included the “hands on” implementation of and updating environmental, health and safety policies and procedures, DOT training, record retention, vehicle inspection and HOS logs management. Conducted employee safety training, including: forklift operation, HAZCOM, proper lifting techniques, machine lock out / tag out procedures and others. Monitored chemical PEL exposure limits of employees to both TDI and MDI.
Implemented plant safety audits, labor metrics program development, risk management / accident investigation using (JHA) Job Hazard Analysis as well as Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and was responsible for administration of workers’ compensation cases, maintained all OSHA 300 logs and submittals.
Updated a wide array of facility plans and compliance programs involving chemical contingency and emergency response, chemical exposure and noise level monitoring, MSDS compliance, protective equipment, chemical waste management & minimization and NPDES (Stormwater Runoff Permitting Compliance Procedures) for 7 plant locations. Prepared and submitted yearly State and Federal EPA environmental release reporting & permitting for 3 plants involving (Form R Submittals) SARA Title V, SARA Title III and Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations. • Saved the company over $50K+ and reduced the plant accident rate 75% within six months time, across 7 locations, by implementing improved practices and safety rules, thus bringing all locations under the OSHA DART rate for inspection.
