I'm an entrepreneur and an open source programmer.
In 2006 I co-founded JadeTower, a software consultancy . In 2007 I established a Hong Kong subsidiary of JadeTower.
From 2007 to 2009 I served on the board of directors of the Apache Software Foundation, a US non-profit providing legal and infrastructure support for open source software, primarily web infrastructure such as the Apache web server. I contributed to several Apache and non-Apache open source projects, usually in the Java container and component space, such as Apache Avalon, Apache Excalibur and the Eclipse Rich Client Platform, an open source platform for desktop applications.
My prior professional experience includes several years as a software engineer for Sony Electronics developing in-house J2EE applications.
I am currently residing in Hong Kong. In addition to my startup work, I volunteer time and run events to promote the understanding and the adoption of open source software in greater China. I've also organized and assisted in several barcamp community events in Hong Kong, China and the United States.
Open source development and processes, Eclipse RCP/Plugin developer, Java container technologies such as OSGi, Avalon/Excalibur or Spring, web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails.
