Ivo Rijkers (Etten-Leur, 1976) lives and works in Haarlem. He started his studies in 1996 at the Municipal Institute of Ornamental Arts and Crafts (SISA) in Antwerp, Belgium and graduated in 1999 from the Academy for Fine Arts (ABK) in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Here he was taught amongst others by Han van de Wetering and Fons Haagmans. Since then he works as a professional artist being rewarded for his work by a a scholarship from the Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture in 1999. Ivo Rijkers is also committed to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam where he works for the collection department.
