Usability @ SAPO / Portugal Telecom
Portugal
I studied Ergonomics at the Human Kinetics Faculty in Lisbon and I specialized in Informational Systems Ergonomics, or, if you prefer, Usability.
During the last year of the course in 2003, I worked at IconMedialab as a trainee in the HCI (Human Computer Interaction) Group where I met a bunch of very interesting people and it was also my first experience in this area.
After finishing the course, I had the opportunity to work with one of the biggest companies in Portugal: Volkswagen Autoeuropa. It's an automotive industry and at the time they manufactured three vehicles: Volkswagen Sharan, Ford Galaxy and Seat Alhambra. I worked there as an Industrial Ergonomics Consultant to help the paint line workers who where complaining of strain injuries in their lower limbs.
In September of 2004 I joined log as a Usability Consultant. log is an Open Source driven company that works mainly with Internet solutions. I worked with the application development team and was responsible for the usability and accessibility in all projects. I've learned a lot there and the work helped me to increased my experience level, wich was great.
In 2009 I was invited to join the SAPO team to lead their Usability Department. SAPO is the biggest portal in Portugal and it will be fun to work alonside the most skilled people in the country.
