As I started studying journalism in 2004 in Tilburg, The Netherlands, I wanted to become a music journalist. My first and foremost interest in the end, is music.
My writing career though slowly shifted towards politics and online media. Nowadays, I work at the newsroom of a local newspaper in Eindhoven, where I'm covering a wide variety of subjects.
I went to Istanbul in the winter of 2007, Turkey for a four month project at the Marmara University and I found myself intriged with the country's politics.
From Februari 2008 until the end of May 2008 I was a trainee at The Herald newspapers in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Once again, the political issues of one country was interesting to write about.
Since October 2008, I was working fulltime for Eindhovens Dagblad, a local daily newspaper in the city of Eindhoven. The function is to be described as the person who covers the daily news issues. I was responsable fot the first Cover it live-sessions op the newspapers' site (www.ed.nl), the application was lanched during an aeroplane crash at Schiphol, Amsterdam, and the attack on the Dutch Royal family during Queensday, 2009.
In August 2009, I signed a contract with de Ware Tijd, the biggest daily newspaper in Suriname, a former colony of The Netherlands. I will fly as soon the visa will be confirmed.
I write on my own blog (bhayi.wordpress.com, in Dutch).
Writing, interviewing, editing and searching, in other words: the skills a journalist needs.
