Jürgen E. Ewert’s Summary
Old tube radios initiated my fascination in electronics when I was a youngster growing up in northern Germany.
I converted some of these radios into amplifiers for the rock band in our small community.
From 1968 to 1972, I studied Electronics and Circuit Design at the Technical University of Ilmenau in Germany.
Studying the properties of vacuum tubes was still an important element of the curriculum at the TU-Ilmenau in 1968.
In 1972 I started working as a design engineer creating circuits with transistors and ICs, but never lost the love for vacuum tubes.
Tired of disposable consumer electronics, I designed my own hand-wired Push-Pull Monoblocks, based on 2A3 Power Triodes.
The latest successful project is a pair of SE Monoblocks based on 811A power triodes with Thoriated Tungsten filament for the shootout at the European Triode Festival 2007.
With "International Research & Consulting" I founded a venture that allows my clients to participate in the magnificence of vacuum-tube sound of Valve Amplifiers.
