Startup CEO (I could not think of anything better)
London, United Kingdom
Educated as a Spacecraft Engineer, moved swiftly away into Internet Technologies. Worked with several startups, and taken them to listing stage, including Onet Ltd, in the UK. Spent 5 years in India, building India's largest Web Hosting provider (Net4India). Travelled back to the UK to build ipClouds. Although raised money successfully, Skype was a little too big.
Moved onto to become one of the founding team at Nivio.com. Since then Nivio has gone from strength to strength, and was recently voted as Tech pioneer 2009 at Davos.

Where do I start with this position. I joined as one of the founding team at Nivio. Nivio is an online desktop, but unlike others out there, its Windows XP, just as you login to email, you can now login to XP. It is funded by private equity from the UK.
During my time at Nivio, I have led the systems and networks team, then led the sales and marketing teams. I was instrumental in building the sales team, together with closing the largest revenue deal for Nivio. Ensuring that Nivio was no longer a startup but a fully fledged company.
My final task was to get them to Davos, which we did

Nivio is no longer a startup, but valued at over $30million, hence my job is done...time to move on to the next big thing, if you find it before I do, let me know :-)

I was the CEO of a new startup in the UK, namely ipClouds Ltd. It specializes in providing telecom solutions over high speed Internet Connections, VoIP for short.
Being the founder of the business, the strategy decisions, land firmly on my desk. Together with all business and technical issues. Slowly the burden has been eased by a good team of people, that have been recruited. The service is up and running, www.ipclouds.co.uk, the technology platform all designed and built, the distribution channels in place, now its down to getting the fourth piece in the jigsaw puzzle together...the financing.
So come join the revolution....
Note: The revolution has come and gone, I have moved on....

This position was the most fun I had had in a long time. The CEO and myself, worked in ISP's in the UK, looked at doing "our own thing", and packed our bags, and travelled to India. There after raising £5 million in financing, we set about building the "biggest and the best".
By 2003, Net4India, was the largest domain registration and web hosting provider in India, spanning 11 cities, and emplying over 300 people. Since then Net4india, pioneered VoIP, and became the first ISP in India to offer VoIP, via its retail arm www.phonewala.com.
My day to day work, as a board member involved, business strategy, and future planning. Service providers need to continously to develop service's, Net4india did this at a pace, second to none.
Net4india has recently filed it draft offer document for filing with SEBI, for a potential IPO

This was a really cool place to work, just when everyone was thinking dialup, Prestel was thinking of collecting lots of ISP, and hopefully someday getting a kick back from the telcos.....
Prestel won the ISP of the year awards, had a great support teams, and was a leader at that time, they were purchased by Scottish Telecom, who then went and bought Demon, at which point it was time for me to bid farewell..
