Chi Nederland is the Dutch Association for Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and serves user interface professionals and all stakeholders and interested parties in the field.
As board member in charge of Marketing and PR I try to bring focus to this organisation driven by enthusiastic volunteers and come up with campaigns to reach our ambitious goals. In times of weakness I am known for crossing lines and developing new conferences and events for Chi Nederlands.

As an allround consultant I know how (large) organisations can implement the insights of the Science of Happiness. My focus is on leadership and creativity. And the institute's main activities are organising kick-ass workshops/symposia/round table sessions and initiating awesome research on the subject (first focus is research in the area of employee happiness).
It is possible:
- to experience the state of flow more often
- to get better results through positive psychology
- to run your business more meaningful
By believing this you have already paved the way to success!

One day a week I help out in a daytime-only homeless shelter for non-drug addicts. I help out in the soup kitchen, talk/listen to clients and make them feel at home.
The shelter's philosophy is based on the Theory of Presence. This theory (by Dutch Professor Baart) provides a new perspective on care. Presence is based on involvement and proximity; it is carefully slow and general instead of specialised; attention is a keyword. By criticising detachment, the Theory of Presence strips managers of many tried and tested methods. Authority, firmness and speed should be replaced by attention. Management and market jargon, just like performance contracts, is regarded as taboo.
