Imran Mohamed, a Manager with Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting, LLC, specializes in delivering information technology strategy to corporate clients. Mr. Mohamed has deep expertise in leveraging IT functions to drive operational efficiencies in mission-critical business processes, as well as to facilitate top-line revenue growth through technology-centric opportunities.
Over the past ten years, Mr. Mohamed has led and advised numerous technology engagements across a broad spectrum of industries, including high-speed discrete manufacturing, telecommunications, and transportation.
Recently, Mr. Mohamed served as Interim CIO and led the transformation of the IT department at a medical staffing firm. The department suffered from lack of strong leadership, experience, and medium to long term strategic direction across all operational units including the helpdesk, network operations, and development. Created a foundation for growth which included a formalized Software Development Life Cycle Process as well as application release environments which ensured successful and timely software deployments. This in conjunction with creating a formalized Quality Assurance group guaranteed first rate system deployments. Put in place a governance infrastructure which allowed business units to guide IT initiatives. This infrastructure helped to justify IT Spend and made certain that technology initiatives were aligned with business strategy.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mohamed founded Second Millennium Consulting, a Chicago-based Internet consulting firm. As Director of Operations, Mr. Mohamed successfully built the firm into a multi-million dollar consultancy, which was subsequently acquired by a publicly traded telecommunications firm.
Mr. Mohamed holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
