Cinemax was launched in 1998. The company has since become a significant player in the field. In addition to its expertise in DTP, the company is one of the major players in multimedia, interactive entertainment and the Internet. Cinemax studio projects are known for their commitment to quality and excellence. High-quality graphic implementation and optimal functionality are our hallmarks.
From its very beginning, Cinemax has dominated the Czech market as an important developer and producer of PC games. Even before 1998, the co-founders of the company were applying themselves to the development of PC games, either in other studios or within independent projects. The beginnings of our development activities date back to the era of 8-bit computers, therefore we can draw on 15 years of experience in the field of interactive entertainment and software development. Being connected to the birth of a global boom of PC games, we are able to build on a firm basis, which gives us an important insight. In the past, we contributed (as a development team or independent developers) to several game projects. To name the most popular ones: Hlava Kasandry - The Head of Cassandra (1992, LetDisk), Gravon (1994, Suma), Gooka (1997, JRC), Nodus Domini (1997, Cybernetic Cinema), Husita - The Hussite (1998, Phoenix Arts), Operation Flash Point (2001, Bohemia Interactive).
Currently, we have been developing a number of our own titles, providing a production and supporting developer teams. After the successful game Ve stínu havrana – In The Shadow of The Raven (1999) we released an attractive strategy game State Of War in July 2001. Next released games - Necromania: Trap Of Darkness, Bugs Escape 3D, Daemonica.

The underground crowd connected with dnb scene and the Prague's Punto Azul club are familiar with the various artists on this label since 2001, but throughout the rest of Czech Republic and the world around it's known only to a few trained listeners.
Kaktus came out in a flash in 2001 first releasing the 12" vinyl Kaktus001, where its authors - Igraczech and Touchwood - have shown off their own production style. Since then, Kaktus was standing dormant, flooded with ideas and growing. Now the time has come to show that after six years it's still there. The web you're watching now is our new home and all the musical stories will be available here as free downloadable high quality MP3 releases.
Kaktusrecordings Dot Org is familiar with every musical style and genre. As opposed to many dancefloor-specialised labels, we expect our music to get to our listeners through their ears more than their feet :-)

I've been working at Cinemax since its very beginning, before the actual company was formed. First team found by Marek Nepožitek, Jan Hovora, Štěpán Kment, Vladislav Igielski and me began working on a computer game project in 1996. After two years, Cinemax was formed running our own game development and providing graphic design services to local biggest computer magazines CHIP, Level and Official PlayStation Magazine. I've been art directing these magazines for three years. Lately, most of my work up here consists of graphic and user-interface design and for computer games, corporate identity, advertisment design, packaging, magazine design, typography and localizations.
