I'm running Icona Inc, where my creative and talented crew crank out an endless array of websites, print materials, tradeshow displays, CMS systems, eComm solutions, sage advice and fresh thinking. We're constantly busy juggling our huge client list with tight deadlines and top notch work, and I like to think we've created a fun, energetic place to work.

Icona occupies a funky studio space in Calgary's East Village, and works with companies around the world, often teaming up with other marketing firms, media houses and talented freelancers.

As the President of Icona, I'm building a committed team of professionals focused on developing cutting edge custom web applications and print design material.

I'm also the owner of Active Image Studios Inc, my freelance design company, and a current partner in HotWings Resources (www.hotwings.ca).

  As the President of Icona Inc, I am responsible, along with my business partner Dave Taillefer, for business development, project management and basic day-to-day operations.
  
  With a staff of 6 programmers and designers, our firm constantly juggles anywhere from 5 to 15 projects at a time and does so very successfully due to our open communication and streamlined production processes.

  I started Active Image Studios after returning to Alberta from Ottawa where I was employed with the HK Group, developing websites and multi-media marketing for government departments. Active Image Studios began as a home-based business providing design communications for print and web use. As the sole employee and owner, I grew Active Image Studios into a 4 person operation with a hip funky office in Inglewood. I was responsible for all business operations including sales, marketing and project management.
  
  In 2006, one of my long time competitors and I 'buried the hatchet' and merged our companies together after realizing that joining forces would make us a much stronger, and more dominating company.

  As the Multimedia Director, I was responsible for spear heading all interactive communication projects for the HK group. Work was primarily government based project so a solid understanding of government procedures and FIP (Federal Identity Program) requirements and standards was paramount. With 2 junior designers working with me, I managed production schedules and coordinated development with the rest of the team.
