A former professional footballer (Bury F.C.), Ian achieved a personal ambition by playing at Wembley in front of 20,000 in the F.A.Vase Final 2000. He played semi-professional until 2001 when injury ended his career. His natural leadership style and aptitude led him to captain most teams he played for and in this capacity he found himself on the wrong side of the camera when interviewed by the likes of the BBC, Sky Sports News and ITV.
