Principal Developer and Architect of a mission-critical ASP.NET / C# / SQL Server solution used by call centre staff at eight locations and via the internet by 350+ builders’ merchants for the creation of quotations totalling over £1.8 billion per annum. The system uses Windows services to enforce company trading policy and send quote acknowledgements, minimising lost revenues and significantly reducing time taken to issue accurate quotes.
Developed a “Portal” application framework allowing rapid and consistent development of ASP.NET applications for use internally and externally (via an Extranet). Leveraging technologies including compiled master pages, CSS, XML web services and shared low-level business objects, the team are able to benefit from a common look and feel, authentication, role-based security, deployment platform, and other features. In sixteen months, over 20 applications have now been developed within this framework for use by internal staff and external customers.

IMS Health Early-Insight
Lead developer of a web application that presents daily sales data to subscribing pharmaceutical companies. Created using classic ASP and VB6 COM objects with an Oracle 8i database. In addition to a web front-end, users can also schedule emailed reports, which are generated by an NT service written in VB6.
Successful delivery of this application for the UK and Irish markets and positive feedback from customer has resulted in separate versions being rolled out on the same codebase for a further 15 countries.
Hutchison 3G Digital Accessories
Worked in a small team to develop an application to allow users of third generation mobile phones to purchase ringtones and graphic logos via their handsets. The product was developed with J2EE technologies on a UNIX platform using the NetBeans IDE.
