Ian Delaney’s Experience

  • Publisher

    NMK (New Media Knowledge)

    (Non-Profit; 1-10 employees; E-Learning industry)

    January 2007Present (2 years 7 months)

NMK is a knowledge-sharing hub for businesses and individuals working in digital media. We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation that aims to bring together people, opinions and ideas for the benefit of the industry. NMK is funded by the University of Westminster and the London Development Agency.

  • Editor

    ICT for Education

(Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Writing and Editing industry)

    April 2004December 2006 (2 years 9 months)

I was still at Crimson at this point, though getting involved in the social media scene. The mag and bizplan was my idea, and its continued existence hopefully means that's a good thing.

  • Editor/Publisher

    Crimson Publishing

(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Publishing industry)

    November 1999March 2004 (4 years 5 months)

Ah, Crimson. What can I say? Like any startup, a very lovely company to be with in its initial stages. Less so, as the MD realised that our products weren't as profitable as he'd imagined. I launched and ran What Laptop and ICT for Education at Crimson, and advised on a number of other projects.

  • Lecturer

    Bexley College

(Educational Institution; 201-500 employees; Primary/Secondary Education industry)

    September 1990July 1998 (7 years 11 months)

Used to be called Erith College, but negative associations for the area provoked a change of brand. Some lovely experiences, especially teaching the adult evening classes in A-Level English.

  • Teacher

    West Park Community College

(Government Agency; 51-200 employees; Higher Education industry)

    September 1988September 1990 (2 years 1 month)

Lovely institution; great colleagues. Sadly shut down by the Local Authority (Sandwell) because we weren't as cost efficient as the local FE college.
