Hugo van der Kooij’s Summary

Troubleshooting using a systematic approch combined with a gut feeling to cut right through the cake when possible.

A 'customer comes first' approach. (Which will not exclude going to our CEO or CTO to get things done.)

Creative solutions. Once you allow me to get the full picture I will try to find a solution even if the solution may be rather unorthodox.

Troubleshooting.
Odd installations including historic protocols.

Hugo van der Kooij’s Experience

  • Support Engineer

    Qi ict

(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Computer Networking industry)

    October 2007Present (1 year 10 months)

No, I did not change jobs. But on the 31st of October 2007 we changed our company name from "Q&I" to "QI ict".

    =======================================================

  • Owner

    viruspool.net (Sole Proprietorship)

(Sole Proprietorship; Myself Only; Computer & Network Security industry)

    November 2004Present (4 years 9 months)

viruspool.net is an attempt to cross reference names given by malware scanners to particular malware. Thi is done by scanning as many live samples as I can lay my hands on with as many scanners as I can test.

This procedure is the only reliable way to cross reference malware names. This is not a job but sometimes just as much work. All participants that allow me to use their scanners are valuable contributers and I hope to return the favor by providing feedbackas much as I can. to them.

  • member

De NLLGG is een landelijke vereniging van Linux gebruikers in Nederland.

Alhoewel pas formeel opgericht in 1996 is de kern al eind 1995 ontstaan.

  • Support Engineer / Network Engineer

    Q&I

(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Computer & Network Security industry)

    April 1997October 2007 (10 years 7 months)

Installation, troubleshooting and education on the majority of product lines like:
    Aladdin / Esafe
    BlueCoat
    Check Point
    ClearSwift / MailSweeper
    InAlp
    Nokia (IPSO)
    Trend Micro
    RAD

Ans basically anything that does not fits into one of the regular groups may end up on my desk as irregulars are my hobby ;-)

  • Operator
