I am that rare combination of 20th century work ethic and 21st century savvy, solidly grounded in talent and willing to passionately embrace new technologies. I am responsible for promoting more than 100 events each season, through advertisements, a Web site and electronic calendar, as well as creating direct mail pieces, posters and a season brochure. In addition, I have developed specific recruiting tools on the MTD Web site, along with traditional print
materials that are mailed to every high school in Michigan.

I created Michigan Women's Forum from the desire to continue writing after I left the newspaper industry. Over the past five years, I have increased the electronic magazine's size and scope to include four columnists, a calendar of events, searchable archive and specific news sections. I have dramatically increased Forum's Web site traffic and organically elevated its Google search ranking to consistent page 1 and 2 results.

The JCC is a surprisingly complex network of individual departments and programs in two locations. All department and program directors rely on the three-person Marketing team for brochures, posters, press releases, media relations, advertising placement and on-line promotions. My responsibilities included copywriting, press release distribution, media relations, Web design, and managing client expectations.

March 1999 — July 2004 (5 years 5 months)
As a reporter from 1999 to 2001, I wrote 8-10 news stories per week on topics that ranged from city government and crime to human interest features and business profiles. While Community Editor of the Farmington Observer, from 2001 until my resignation in 2004, I managed an editorial calendar, supervised and coached reporters, wrote editorials and personal columns, designed news pages and served as the "face" of the newspaper at community events.
