Ray Huang is currently project manager and design engineer in the environmental services & cleantech sector, where he is involved in the design, construction and commissioning of innovative & novel biological and physio-chemical process systems for air, water and soil pollution removal, and for energy recovery & re-use. He has five years of experience in medical & biotechnology, having previously served in HQ SAF Medical Corps as Special Projects Coordinator in CBRD, and is co-author to several peer-reviewed research publications in the Journals of Industrial Chemistry & Engineering Research, Biomaterials Science and Membrane Science. His areas of expertise are in stimuli-responsive composite materials (1 patent application), bio-catalysis and viral-based biological control. He holds a M.A.Sc in Bioprocess Engineering, B.Eng.Mgmt in Process Systems Engineering, summa cum laude, from McMaster University, and a LL.B(Hons) in Environmental & IP Law from the University of London.

Introduction to Bio-process Engineering TA
Provided students with an understanding of the fundamentals of kinetics of cellular processes, microbial processes and enzyme-catalyzed reactions including those of immobilized cells and enzymes. Curriculum includes cell culturing, bioreactor design, bioprocess development including downstream processing.
Introduction to Professional Engineering TA
Provided students with an introduction to professional engineering including ethics, health and safety, roles and responsibilities to society, engineering communication. Imparted knowledge of general design skills through 2 plant design projects - Jatropha bio-diesel & algae/switchgrass bioethanol production process.
