Sr. Software Business Manager (Product Management, Marketing, Alliances)
Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area
I take ownership of the company's success in the market category I am assigned, or with the alliance I am assigned. My criteria for success is high, and I have a record of exceeding expectations. Once I have my space -- whether it be firewall (as at Novell) or application virtualization and streaming (as at Altiris/Symantec), I learn it intimately and am passionate about the pursuit of market domination. Or in the case of an alliance, I find every opportunity in the relationship and aggressively pursue revenue maximization.

December 2008 — Present (1 year )
I am available as a "hired gun" for a variety of projects that utilize my unique experience with systems management and security products, including hands-on implementation and support work. Earlier this year, I assisted Symantec with development and implementation of multiple targeted interactive Web communities, mostly in support of strategic alliances such as HP, Sun, Dell and IBM.
I am also leveraging my market knowledge as a member of the Coleman Research Group Executive Forum, providing market trends and futures consulting to financial analysts.

April 2008 — November 2008 (8 months)
I served two roles during this period.
As Technical PM for the Endpoint Virtualization group, I was responsible for supporting Symantec's client virtualization strategy as an SME and evangelist. I worked with customers, partners, field sales, analysts and the media. I knew the competition well and participated in the creation of competitive analysis documents & other technical collateral. I regularly presented at events and participated on panels ref: the benefits and challenges of client virtualization.
I was also the HP Alliance PM for Endpoint Virtualization. I drove the virtual Firefox deal (http://www.infoworld.com/d/virtualization/symantec-and-mozilla-firefox-hp-virtual-solutions-162) and worked multiple new initiatives with HP around application virtualization and streaming. During my time as HP Alliance PM, two new OEM agreements were signed, with two additional new agreements in process. Revenue via the alliance increased significantly and a new growth strategy was developed.

Product Manager in Symantec's Endpoint Security and Management group, responsible for HP alliance products, including HP Client Manager and RDP. (Public Company; SYMC; Computer Software industry)
January 2005 — April 2007 (2 years 4 months)
Oversaw the development and launch of major new product initiative in new market space -- Altiris SVS (Software Virtualization Solution). SVS quickly gained brand recognition and caught up with or exceeded the mindshare held by the only pre-existing competitor, Softricity (since acquired by Microsoft).
Established the partnership with AppStream, which led to the creation of the SVS Professional product and the acquisition of AppStream by Symantec.
Created the Altiris Juice Web community (now Symantec Connect, www.http://www.symantec.com/community), a hugely popular online resource for users of Altiris products to share their experiences and improve the value they get from our products.
