CEO HPC / Athletic Lab
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
I am the owner and Director of Sports Performance for HPC. I operate a sport science and athletic development training center called Athletic Lab. In this role I serve as the primary biomechanist, sport technologist, and strength and speed consultant. I am also the coach for the HPC Elite team, a team of elite and emerging elite track and field atheltes. I have an undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology and a Master of Science degree in Athletic Administration and a PhD in Biomechanics. Before running my business full-time, I also worked as a collegiate track coach at 3 different universities. I was the jumps and multi-events coach at Ohio University where my athletes set 2 school records. Following OU, I coached and mentored under legendary track and field coach, “Boo” Schexnayder for 4 years. While at LSU, I was on the staff of 6 National Championship teams. Following LSU, I was the sprints and multi-events coach for Army Track & Field. In my short 3 years at Army, my athletes rewrote the record books with 9 school records, 54 All-Time Top Ten performances, 24 Conference Championships, and achieved the three highest point totals ever recorded in a single event at the conference championship.
I have been a guest at all 3 U.S. Olympic Training Centers as an athlete (Lake Placid), sport scientist (Colorado Springs & Chula Vista), and coach (Colorado Springs) and have worked with several Olympians, National Champions, and Collegiate National Champions in the sport of Track & Field. In addition to working with track athletes, I have also trained athletes from a variety of other sports, most notably Bradie James (Dallas Cowboys) and Super Bowl Champion Marquise Hill (New England Patriots).
