Howard joined GE’s legal organization in October 2007 as a Commercial Law Counsel for GE Consumer & Industrial. In this role, Howard focuses on the sourcing side of commercial law, and also provides advice and counsel in the areas of customs law, and international trade controls.
Before joining GE, Howard spent nearly five years as Corporate Counsel to Gates Corporation / Tomkins plc where he provided legal support to all of the Tomkins companies as part of the Tomkins Law Department. In that capacity, Howard specialized in import-export compliance, international trade, customs law, commercial contracts and government affairs. Prior to Tomkins, Howard worked as an Import Policy Analyst for the US Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Import Administration. Import Administration is the US Department of Commerce’s lead unit in enforcing trade laws and agreements to prevent unfairly traded imports.
