Howard Greenstein is a Social Media Consultant, helping companies understand and adopt the latest web technologies that let them communicate with their customers more effectively. He works with his clients on communities, social networking, blogs, and podcasting .
Previously, Howard was CEO and Executive Director of Social Media Club, a trade association for business and media professionals and bloggers, podcasters and citizen journalists. Social Media Club is promoting networking, best practices, standards and ethics in the Social Media Field.
Prior to this, he was Sr. Director of Management Programs at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at NYU, overseeing curricula and faculty in HR, Project Management, Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He created a Certificate in Coaching that has been nationally recognized.
He was the Director of Operations at the Twin Towers Fund. The Fund was started by Former Mayor Giuliani for the uniformed Rescue workers killed during the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.
Howard was in Business Development at streaming media startup Sorceron after serving as a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft's Internet products, including Internet Explorer 4.0 and Windows Media Technologies.
At startup company Netcast in 1997, he was Director of Operations and Customer Service. He has also worked for JP Morgan, Credit Lyonnais, and BBDO in technology and consulting roles.
Howard was co-founder and board member of the World Wide Web Artist's Consortium and a member of the Board of NYNMA. He is currently on the board of the New York Software Industry Association (NYSIA).
Howard has been featured in the New York Times, Fast Company Magazine, New York Post, New York Daily News, and the Silicon Alley Reporter.
He has a Masters of Interactive Telecommunications from New York University, and a Bachelors of Science from Cornell University. He is also a coach.
