Matthew is the founder and president of LexThink, LLC. a legal innovation consultancy dedicated to bringing new and better ideas to the professional services industry though consulting, speaking, retreats and conferences.
A reformed lawyer, Matthew left law practice and is focused on building a sustainable community of like-minded innovation practitioners. He works with firms and individuals, and helps them leverage their own institutional and personal creativity to make meaningful and satisfying changes in their own practices.
Matthew has been an idea collector his whole life. He shares hundreds of those ideas on his award-winning blog, the [non]billable hour, where he writes about how innovative billing strategies, creative marketing techniques, cutting-edge ideas from other industries and professions, and proven customer service principles can combine to revolutionize the ways professionals serve their clients.
Matthew also serves as a Contract Consultant for XPLANE -- The Visual Thinking Company. There, he helps companies tell their stories in easy-to-understand and visually compelling ways. Matthew also works with companies to bring innovative methods of visual thinking to bear on their most complex organizational problems and solve those challenges in a unique, yet effective way.
In 2006, Matthew founded reaBIGthinking, promising "Innovative Retreats, Unconventional Ideas and Guaranteed Results" to his customers. He hosts monthly Idea Markets in the St. Louis area that bring an eclectic mix of individuals and not-for-profits together for an evening of collaboration, brainstorming and happy hour.
