In late 2000, the bank launched an innovative reinvention strategy which involved segmenting the retail banking operation into 19 autonomous business units each with a CEO. Out of 700 applicants 19 CEO's were selected - 16 had previous banking experience and 3 were from other industries.
Reporting directly to the New Zealand Managing Director, each CEO had full P&L responsibility for their region and was charged with developing a strategy and business plan to drive growth through local market initiatives and innovation with full support from all central functions and resources.

Responsible for HP's sales and marketing strategy within the Corporate and Government market in New Zealand. During my time in this role we completed a local acquisition of the NZ arm of Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) integrating over 100 staff and $US15 million in services revenue to create a fully functional professional services and integration business in New Zealand and doubling the size of HP New Zealand.
