Holger Maassen’s Summary

Holger has been working on User Interfaces since 1985 when there was only the Mac Plus around. That was when he found his interest in User Interface Design and Information Structures began to flourish.
He works to understand human motivations, capabilities, environments, and needs. He intent to structure information and create gripping experiences that help people accomplish their goals with confidence, satisfaction and pleasure.
He is fascinated with the current and ongoing pace of technology and believes that human-centered design has the power to create understanding and inspire delight in a frequently chaotic world.
Holger makes use of ethnographic research, information architecture, interaction design, and media as tools to help clients in diverse domains — and he is very interested in consumer products, healthcare, mobile, energy, POI / POS, government and public organizations — use XP, HCD and his usability knowledge to build better businesses and relationships with their customers.
Since then, he has worked with a number of major brands, including Mercedes Benz, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Hugo Boss, Opel and Proctor & Gamble, as well as on large scale Intranet and Extranet applications for such companies as Microsoft, Escada and BASF. He has been involved in the Information Architecture for large scale public-facing sites for such companies as Arcandor, Thyssen Krupp, Lufthansa and Fraport. He has also developed terminal and mobile solutions, creating unique biometric (fingerprint reader) applications and has worked as User Experience Planner for various clients where he was responsible for creating user interfaces for mobile applications and future projects.
